What is a Sash Lock? A sash lock is a lock that is morticed into the side of a door, it has a latch action, to keep the door closed and a dead bolt, that will lock into place.
The locks come in a 2 lever, 3 lever, 4 lever, 5 lever, 7 lever and with cylinders.
Their security varies, depending on the location they are fitted, for instance a 2 lever and 3 lever Sash Lock, are ideal for interior doors at your home or business, if you wanted to master your locks, then a cylinder Sash Lock would be ideal.
4 lever locks are rarely made now, as they can be easily by passed with other keys and relied on their security, by side wards.
For higher security uses, it would be best to use 5 lever and high security cylinder locks.
